Video Clip - "How Loved Am I"
"There is beauty in the small things of life. I am often challenged to be present and not miss out on the beauty around me. This song is a call out: to see how loved we really are." - John
Returning to the Place We Started
Thanks everyone for your support of 'Returning to the Place we Started'. Recorded with producer Jake Nauta of Playgerise fame, and featuring tracks "How Loved am I", "Overflow" "Pretty Stars" "Forevermore" and "Watertight", this 2015 release still means so much to me.
I've had an amazing journey with it, travelling all through Central NSW and overseas. The stories from people hearing these songs have blessed me: helping people through rough times, soothing souls, hearing generations sing together, or tell me how the songs are making the world a better place.
My biggest highlights were gaining finalist and runner up in the excellent "International Acoustic music awards" for "Pretty Stars" and "Overflow" and hearing "How Loved am I" chart nationally to #16 on the Hot 25 Countdown.
I am eternally grateful to the support of Christian radio in our country. Particular thanks go out 96.5 Family in Brisbane and all the crew at Rhema FM Newcastle, my home town, for their incredible support.

2019- The year for new songs!
After the biggest hiatus, I am looking forward to sharing some brand new songs this year. The song writing genie is well and truly out of the bottle and I'm feeling ready. Production will be starting pretty soon, with a fresh sound and plenty of new ideas.
New EP in 2020
It's been 5 years since I stepped into Queens Road Studio to make Returning to the Place we Started with producer and engineer, Jake Nauta. There's been lots of life since then- trips and family life, National and International travel. I even got to sing and play these songs in Turkey! Big highlights have been seeing my single "How loved am I" receiving airplay around the country for Liam Rentons Hot 25 Countdown, out of Brisbane in 2015 and winning finalist and runner up awards for best make vocalist and song writing with "Overflow" and "Pretty Stars". That was pretty cool. I am forever grateful to the churches who supported my work and to Rhema FM, Newcastle for adding songs to their rotation- who also selected 2 of my songs to appear in the 2016 Australia Day Aussie Top 20 ( I appeared in the 8th and 2nd positions).
Trying to make a new thing has been my goal for the last 2 years. I joined an online songwriting group through i heart songwriting.com this year and that's been a huge push forward for me, writing a song every week for the last 5 months. The songs are now completed and I am super stoked with how they are going.
I am now making a NEW 7 track EP with major tracking starting in June 2019. Follow along here to get the latest news.
