John Newsome is a Christian Indie Aussie Singer song-writer and creative dreamer of uplifting melodies and lyrical poetry. His songs capture acoustic summer vibes with inspirational soaring anthems that cover the range of stories between love and beauty, family and joy, disappointment and faith. He is a storyteller with an acoustic guitar, his voice seeking to capture weary travellers looking for inspiration. Here are songs inspired by his life as a family guy, his faith and infectious joy for music and song.
John began his professional music career in 2007 with the release of his first album "Mesmerising". In 2011, John released his second album "Falling Awake" and set out with his wife and three young children on a 6 month tour around Australia. Visiting festivals, churches, radio stations and busking in Capital cities, John made lasting relationships and formed many new ideas around the future of his music. He appeared on Wesley impact with his song "Rescue" dedicated to the work of child rescue agencies.
His follow up EP in 2015 "Returning to the Place we Started" became his signature record, with three award winning singles "How loved am I", "Watertight" and "Overflow" and touring and charting Nationally on Australia's Hot 25 Countdown with Liam Renton. These were songs that came out of a place of balance and sweetness as a husband, father, musician and teacher that he sought to embrace.
His story is one that captivates and inspires many to find beauty and strength in the life that we have.
In April 2020, John will release his new album "Unveiling" with new singles being released on all streaming platforms
